Pen and Ink Drawing......(The Art of Copying)

The art of copying is relatively a simple term. It means watching the whatever you are drawing and paste it on your sketch pad paper or any kind of paper.... But, you need to know the steps of proceeding to do the sketch first and it is as follows:  (1)Draw a Grid                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   (2)Count the no. of blocks along the x axis and the y axis after gridding
 (3) Draw a grid onto the picture that is going to be copied making sure that the no. of squares on the x and the y axis match on your page
                   (4) Match each square/block on the picture with its corresponding square/block on your page..this is done by watching carefully and precise measurement

Working with Pastels......

Oil pastels....mess-free; chalk pastels......total messy...i have chalk pastels. Before we started today's class we learned about the different types of pastels as I mentioned before, chalk and oil. The best type of surface to work on with pastels is a SLIGHTLY rough surface to capture the particles and blend or help to blend the colors better. Some examples of pastel materials are like pastel paper, obviously, cold pressed water colour paper and veilour. Oil pastels can also be blended using a technique called artist turpentine.  When doing a pastel drawing the most important t thing u must have is a color chat of the different shades of your fruit/veges. The way in which u apply your technique of using the pastels is also important....Miss sort of took my paper, pastels and did a drawing on mine.......so i kinda got a head start
